Registered Veterinary Technician

Alpine Animal Hospital is looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team! Alpine Animal Hospital is a general practice located in Mountain View, CA. Available schedule: Full-time position, shifts will be Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct animal examinations, restrain patients, and review care plans and records
  • Care for patients by taking vital signs, collecting samples, administering vaccines, providing wound care management, completing laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging
  • Fill prescriptions and administer PO, SQ, IM, IV medications, including proper documentation, logging and security of controlled drugs
  • Operate and maintain hospital equipment
  • Anesthetize animals and monitor anesthesia under the direction and supervision of the Veterinarian
  • Perform dental prophylaxis and dental imaging
  • Ability to demonstrate and follow procedures in catheter placement and phlebotomy
  • Maintain medical records by documenting patients’ conditions, reactions, and changes; updates database in an accurate and timely manner
  • Proactive role in developing new skills and furthering knowledge base by attending CE
  • Support the team in welcoming new employees and assist in the training process when needed

Qualifications and Skills: 

  • At least 1 year of RVT experience
  • Confidence with anesthesia monitoring, dental assisting, and pre/post op care
  • RVT, LVT, or CVT certification required 
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical drugs and calculations

We are open Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. Closed Saturdays and Sundays.
